A personal stylist has compiled a list of simple ways to “elevate” your wardrobe. – and even make your outfits “look more expensive.” Fashion fans will know that it can often be costly to keep up with all the latest trends, with things ever changing and arriving on shelves.

However, it turns out there are ways of making sure your wardrobe is on-trend and fashionable without breaking the bank – or buying new clothes all the time. Personal stylist and founder of Effortless Style, Katie Rushton, often shares advice and tips on Instagram as @effortlesstyle.

Katie mentioned her top three outfit-making tips in a recent post to “make any outfit look more expensive.” The clip’s title read, “Three items that make any outfit look expensive (tips from a personal stylist)” over the text.

You just need a few elevated style moves to look polished, according to the post’s caption. ( Straight from a personal stylist’s toolkit) Here are three items that can increase the cost of any spring outfit.

A “sharp belt” is the first item to be added to your wardrobe, according to Katie. She continued, “Cinch your waist over a dress, blazer, or lightweight knit.” It adds sophistication and shape right away.

A pair of pointed-toed shoes are the second item. This silhouette extends your legs and elevates everything, according to her. Whether it’s a slingback, flat, or heel, it elevates everything.

Finally, Katie advises putting on a “structured layer” to elevate your outfit. “Think a tailored vest, a cropped trench, or a crisp blazer,” she said. Clean lines always make me look chic.
