More than 1,600 conversions were completed by an England rugby player in 24 hours to raise money for the treatment of her late father.
Ella Cromack, a member of the Harlequins and England U20s, faced a challenging task because her father, Simon, had been given a brain tumor that was incurable in November 2023.
Mr. Cromack, from Ashampstead in Berkshire, has had to travel to Germany for regular glioblastoma treatment that isn’t offered on the NHS.
The 20-year-old fly-half kicked the first kick at Harlequins’ Twickenham Stoop Stadium on Friday at 12:00 BST.
“I have got everything crossed for her because she’s an incredible person,” said Mr. Cromack, “I think it’ll be incredibly emotional but also very fun at the same time.”
He claimed that because of the cost, the treatment he was receiving was not offered by the NHS.
However, he added that “at the same time, it’s very good in the sense that they give us exactly what we need]in Germany.”
