Rod Stewart will play the Sunday “legends” slot at Glastonbury this Sunday, the Maggie May hitmaker recently revealing his concerns prior to the performance.

Iconic singer Sir Rod Stewart has candidly expressed his distaste for one particular aspect of his highly anticipated performance at Glastonbury, while also revealing a specific request he’s made.

In a special Glastonbury edition of the BBC Sidetracked podcast with Annie Macmanus and Nick Grimshaw, the ‘Maggie May’ singer discussed his upcoming gig on the festival’s renowned Pyramid Stage.

Rod will be appearing on the Sunday “legends” slot at Worthy Farm, emulating music legends like Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, and Kylie Minogue, having previously performed on the stage in 2002 with Coldplay and Stereophonics.

When asked what he thought of being labeled a “legend,” Rod responded that he was comfortable with the term and that he “don’t mind.” I believe I merit it, after all. I just wish the time wasn’t called the “teatime slot.”

Before the musician himself called the label “horrible,” Rod continued to explain why he wasn’t a fan of the traditional name for his performance time, which Annie acknowledged sounded “old.”

Rod explained how he was preparing for the show, saying, “We’re working on the set list, but not too hard. Although it’s not Glastonbury, I want to try and treat it like any other game, you know.

He further made it clear that he wanted to go on stage longer because he only had an hour and fifteen songs, and that he wanted an extra hour and a half. You’re aware that this will undoubtedly be my last time doing it.

Rod says he’ll drink a few glasses before his Glastonbury performance to stop the thirst. He said he wants it to be memorable, but he’ll just go in, have a few drinks, and enjoy himself like I’ve always done it all my life instead.

Meanwhile, Rod’s wife Penny Lancaster has spoken candidly about her concerns for her husband, admitting that recent losses in his family have led him to reflect on his own life and consider how long he’s got left. However, the famous singer continues to keep her on her toes.

Penny responded to a question on the “We’re Not Getting Any Younger” podcast about whether Rod still made her feel young, saying, “He does, he does.”

A boy was attacked by a shark at Cabarita Beach on Sunday, and he is now receiving serious arm injuries in the hospital.

A suspected Great White shark bit a teenage boy after he was bitten by it at a beach in New South Wales, which TV hosts Ant and Dec frequent.

After the attack, Australian emergency services were called to Cabarita Beach, between Tweed Heads and Byron Bay, at 3.50pm on Sunday.

Surfers and two off-duty paramedics rushed to the boy’s aid, reportedly using a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter airlifted the teen to Gold Coast University Hospital with “serious but stable” injuries to his arms and hands.

ITV hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, have regularly been spotted enjoying downtime at Cabarita Beach in Australia during the filming of ” I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”.

They were photographed enjoying lunch together at a nearby cafe, as well as regularly swimming at the beach with their families.
