Zulum Donates ₦100m To Families Of Fallen, Wounded Soldiers In Borno

In the ongoing battle against insurgency in the North-East region, the governor of Boro State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has given a donation of 100 million to help the families of the soldiers killed and injured.

The donation was made on Saturday at Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri, where Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff, and Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, were also present.

Major General Abdussalam Abubakar, the theatre commander of Operation Hadin Kai, was presented with a $100 million check by Governor Zulum.

He explained that the families of soldiers killed in action would receive $500, 000, and the remainder would be distributed.

Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Force Commander, Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, and the Chief of Air Staff, Major General Godwin Mutkut, the commander of the MNJTF, witnessed the presentation of the cheque.

A representative from the House of Representatives, Engr. Hon. Bukar Talba, APC Chairman, Hon. Bukar Tijjani, Head of Service, Dr. Muhammad Ghuluze, Acting Chief of Staff, Dr. Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe, and Alhaji Bukar Tijjani, APC Chairman. among several senior government officials is Bilo Ayuba.

Governor Zulum praised the Nigerian Armed Forces’ resilience and patriotism, arguing that their sacrifices must never be forgotten.

“We do not understand how hard you work on the front lines, often in harsh conditions and away from your families. We’ll never accept your sacrifices as unjustifiable, he declared. “We’re eternally grateful for your service.”

The governor also assured the military of the government’s unwavering support.
