Zubimendi set for medical before £51m Arsenal move

Before making his move to Arsenal, Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi will undergo a medical.

The deal is about to close, and reliable sources have confirmed to BBC Sport that all necessary paperwork regarding the Spain international’s switch to the Emirates has been signed.

All parties are relaxed about the timing of the medical appointment because Zubimendi’s switch paperwork has been completed, but there is a desire to finish the formalities quickly.

Arsenal will be able to announce Zubimendi’s signing once the 26-year-old has completed the medical.

According to reports, Zubimendi has a release clause of £51 million, with all of Sociedad and Arsenal’s payment terms already in place.

Zubimendi has been a long-term favorite of Arsenal’s management and has been putting pen to paper on his signing.

The Gunners want to sign a new center-forward, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko as potential targets, in addition to Zubimendi’s imminent arrival.
