
Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano State, met with President Bola Tinubu to discuss his administration’s priorities for security, infrastructure, and strengthening ties with the federal government.  ,
The governor’s representative, Sunisu Bature, said in a statement released on Tuesday that the closed-door meeting was used to formally brief the president about pressing issues and opportunities in Kano, with an emphasis on the state of insecurity in some local government areas.
The statement read, “Governor Yusuf informed President Tinubu about the recent tragic killing of a housewife and her children, stressing the need for decisive federal support to strengthen security operations and protect innocent citizens.”
The governor called for closer collaboration with federal security organizations and praised the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps’ support of traditional security forces.

Yusuf also touched on Kano’s development goals, focusing particularly on mega-infrastructure projects that will encourage economic growth.
He emphasized the value of closer collaboration between the Federal Security Agency and the Neighbourhood Watch Corps to enhance the ability to gather intelligence quickly and gather intelligence.
He thanked the President for the federal response to the Wujuwuju Road, which he claimed was a crucial step in promoting state economic growth and employment.
Further, the governor pressed for Tinubu’s assistance in Kano’s efforts to quickly implement both federal projects in progress and those that are currently being pursued, stressing that greater cooperation would ensure that the state derives the most from federal programs and investments.
According to Bature, President Tinubu assured the governor of Kano State’s commitment to working with the federal government to address insecurities and advance sustainable development.
