Since joining Simon Cowell and former X Factor star Mason Noise for a contest on the ITV reality series, he has completely transformed his life and transformed his image.
It has been a decade since Mason Noise made headlines for his dramatic clash with Simon Cowell on The X Factor, and the singer looks unrecognisable today after stepping away from the spotlight and transforming his life.
The 32-year-old performer, who was born in Birmingham, faced off against Cowell in a fiery showdown during the Six Chair Challenge in 2015, making him one of the most talked-about contestants.
When Mason criticised the length of time allotted for his audition, his real name, Mason Binnell, shocked the audience. Cowell ordered him to leave the stage after a heated exchange, which caused Mason to protest by dropping his microphone and leaving.
Despite the drama, Nick Grimshaw’s mentorship led to Mason’s return for the live performances. In the end, he placed seventh and even went on a live tour, but Simon Cowell’s memorable confrontation with him set him apart from his short-lived fame.
Today, Mason’s life has gone in a completely different direction. His Instagram bio now describes him as a “Musician, Reiki Healer, [and] Inner-Explorer”.
He recently stated to his followers, “I have chosen to live a better life. I want to play a role in making a better future, but I have to break free from the old patterns. Through my heart-to-body connection, I must quieten my mind and commit to becoming more than I ever could have imagined.
In addition, his appearance has drastically changed since his appearance on the show. Mason frequently wore snap caps and had a short, straight facial hair in 2015 .
He is frequently seen wearing a bandanna or bucket hat, and he now has a longer beard with a grey chin stripe, piercing, and nose piercing.
Mason acknowledged in an interview with the Birmingham Mail that he is a “different person” now, adding: “I’ve changed a lot. I believe I have completely altered who I am as a person.
In the past year, I’ve gone through many ups and downs. I’ve had counseling, meditation, and yoga, both of which have really helped me. I experienced a spiritual realization.
Mason’s new perspective on life may have been partly shaped by a terrifying health scare he had in 2019. During a bar fight he was bitten on the arm, and later contracted sepsis after the wound became infected.
He was rushed to the hospital and needed two operations. He later told The Sun: “It was classic example of wrong place, wrong time. I’d been visiting friends in the Cotswolds, near Cirencester, with my family and we were staying on a caravan site. I was with a friend and his girlfriend, sitting in my friend’s car having just got home from a night out.
“It was around 1:00 a.m..” And we were greeted by this man who appeared to be leaving a pub after a night out. He was aggressively acting while lighting a torch in the car.
