A former star of the X Factor has revealed she is expecting her first child eight years on from her second attempt to be crowned winner of the ITV singing competition

A former X Factor star has revealed the sweet news that she is expecting her first child. Scarlett Lee confirmed she is set to welcome her child to the world in August, eight years on from her reality TV show experience.

The 28-year-old singer couldn’t hide her excitement in the adorable Instagram upload. She shared a cute poem which read: “Ten little fingers, two little toes. Two beautiful eyes and a cute button nose. Singing along to mummy at all her shows”.

She then confirmed her baby’s due date, captioning the upload: “Arriving August 2026.” And she also uploaded a framed photo of one of her ultrasounds.

She wrote: “For this child we have prayed and the Lord has granted our hearts desire. Baby Cole coming August 2026.

“We cannot wait for our next chapter of being mummy and daddy and I cannot wait to share my music journey with our little blessing.”

And her followers were quick to share congratulatory messages in the comments section. Fellow X Factor alum Tracy Leanne gushed: “Congratulations my scarlet I am so happy for you both,” while added emoji faces with love heart eyes.

“Congrats Huns!!!,” penned another follower. And a third said: “Awww such gorgeous news , congratulations.”

Scarlett appeared twice on X Factor, In 2017 she reached the six chair challenge stage. However, her dreams were dashed after she was sent home by the judges.

A year later she surpassed her previous efforts. She narrowly missed out on the crown, finishing in second place after performing a duet of One More Sleep with Leona Lewis.

She was pipped to the post by Dalton Harris, who wooed the crowds with his The Power of Love performance alongside James Arthur.

Since appearing on the show, Scarlett revealed she got engaged to Nathan Show a year later. Months later they tied the knot.

It’s claimed the childhood sweetheart of the star popped the question to her in a graveyard. It’s said he proposed beside the graves of her grandparents in an effort to honour them and include them in the special moment.

She has also continued with her career in music. As well as trying her luck stateside on American Idol, Scarlett recently revealed plans to release an album this year.
