Wynne Evans’ crisis conversations with the BBC have been “delayed” due to his shock expulsion from the Strictly Come Dancing tour. It’s been a difficult few weeks. However, a special person has persisted in his life and has remained steadfast.

Last month, the 53-year-old opera singer issued an apology for using “inappropriate and unacceptable” language during a photocall event, and announced that he had agreed with the BBC to “take some time out” from both his BBC Radio Wales show and the live tour to “prioritise” his “wellbeing”.

Wynne, who gained notoriety as the “GoCompare Man,” has been praised throughout the saga by girlfriend Liz Brookes, 50, who witnessed her cheering him on from the audience throughout his bumpy Strictly ride. Wynne and events manager Liz have been seen out and about in Cardiff since leaving the tour, and they appear content and at ease as they leave from a Sainsbury’s store.

After splitting with Tanwen, the mother of his two children, in 2016, Wynne was heartbroken, and it is understood that Liz has proven to be his rock, surviving indescribably as the Strictly drama drags on.

In Cardiff, the pair were caught running errands.

Wynne and Katya made headlines during the fourth live performance when the couple later attributed an inside joke to her awkward handling of her waist. On his BBC Radio Wales program, Wynne declared, “I’m absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me.” Although Katya and I are essentially close and kind friends, and we made a stupid joke on Saturday night, it’s not nice to live there at the time.

Liz shared a sweet snap of them cuddling on the dancefloor that night, saying she was “so proud of this one tonight” on social media. Following the lewd comment that was made on camera that led to Wynne being pulled from the Strictly Come Dancing tour, there was more controversy.

At a photocall event in Birmingham, during the tour’s launch, the Welsh opera singer, was heard using sexualised language that appeared to make others feel uncomfortable. Janette Manrara, the host of the Strictly tour, was the subject of the comments, which were directed at him while he and other Strictly stars gathered around him.

The interaction began when the tenor sang out: “Go Compare”, adding: “Not too close to Jamie”. Then, in reference to a sexual explicit act, he used the demeaning term “spit roast.”

In a statement, Wynne told the Mirror: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise”. Confirming he’d been dropped from the star-studded tour, Wynne told Strictly fans: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

I’m deeply sorry for the suffering my inadvertent behavior has caused, and I’m going to take some time to reflect on my actions. I’m sorry to those who won’t be able to see the remaining performances, and I’m appreciative of my fellow tour members’ continued support.

Following rumors of a brief split (@wynneevans/Instagram), Liz supported her husband as he battled for the Glitterball Trophy.

We were not previously informed of the remark, and we did not receive any complaints, according to a tour and BBC Studios spokesperson. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we will not tolerate such conduct on the tour.

Last month, it was reported that Wynne and Liz had parted ways, with a source claiming that it had been” difficult for Liz “to watch” gropegate “unfold on social media. It’s not known when they split, according to the insider, but friends claim that she was relieved when his most recent lewd behavior was exposed at the Strictly Live Tour launch.

However, it seems like the couple are still together after a difficult relationship, according to a source who told The Sun: “Wynne’s departure from the tour and his radio show was a really tough time, and it put his relationship with Liz in strain.” Liz completely supports Wynne now that they have reconnected, and Liz has no objections.

She and his wife, who lives in Wales, are essentially a couple. Wynne has been in agony these past few weeks, but having Liz by his side has made a huge difference.

Wynne’s fitness-fanatic girlfriend is said to have hugely aided his weight loss, with the star weighing 24 stone at his heaviest. By cutting out alcohol and limiting his intake of bread, burgers, and cheese, he lost seven stone.

Exercise also came into play. “One day I started doing a little bit of running – well, walking, actually, at the start”, he said. “Then I slowly lost weight. So when the call came from Strictly I thought: ‘ This is the right spot'”.

“It was almost like grief, but you can’t grieve for somebody that’s still there”, said Wynne previously of unhappier times. “So, it really affected my mental health, my confidence and my ego – it totally changed me as a person. I would think about everything in my head and have very dark days.

Wynne and Liz first met at a party, but he’s excited about the potential relationship, a source told The Sun. He states, “He is much better now than he was when his marriage ended. It’s like night and day — and he is so happy”.

This comes in response to rumors that Wynne is allegedly having “crisis conversations” with the Beeb, which have reportedly been postponed by a few weeks because the situation has been “weighing heavily on his mind.”

Wynne was scheduled to meet with the BBC last week to discuss the issues he faced and how to proceed if necessary. Wynne was prepared to fight, but he’s been having mental struggles lately.
