A WWE icon has said that becoming a mum at 50 is “a dream come true” for her. Torrie Wilson, who is 50-years-old, took to her social media to share the exciting news.

The star is best known for her impressive wrestling career which first began in 1999. Since then she has become a household name and she was inducted into the Hall of Fame back in 2019.

Torrie has now revealed that she and her husband Justin Tupper have welcomed daughter Poppi into the world. She explained on her Instagram page that Poppi was born via surrogate.

Sharing the sweet announcement. Torrie wrote: “Poppi Wilson Tupper was born via our angel surrogate a few months ago.”

She shared photos of herself and her baby as well as photos alongside her husband at the hospital after the birth. Torrie said she was worried about not becoming a mum due to her age and compared having a child in her 50s to slipping onto a train “just as the doors were closing”.

She added: “I wasn’t sure if ‘Mommy’ was going to be in the cards for me. As I write this, I’m filled with emotion & gratitude. I feel like I slid onto the subway train just as the doors were closing.

“Thank you for making my dream come true @justinctupper.” Friends and fans of the star have taken to the comment section to share their congratulatory messages.

WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella commented: “Omgosh congrats!!!! so happy for you!!!” While Cassie Lee, who was known as Peyton Royce in the IIconics wrote: “Omggggg!!!! Congratulations!!! How beautiful! I’m so happy for you.”

Legendary ring announcer Lilian Garcia said: “What a lucky little girl to have the two of you as parents!!! Congrats.” Brie Bella added: “I’m sooo happy for you!! Congratulations you’ll be the best Mama!!”

Kevin Nash added: “That’s amazing. I’m so happy for you both. You’ll be a fantastic mother.” Former women’s champion Carmella, who has opened up on her own fertility journey with commentator Corey Graves, wrote: “Oh my goodnessssss congratulations, mama!! So so happy for you.”

Torrie first became a well known name in wrestling with WCW from 1999 to 2000 before going on to sign with WWE the following year.

She feuded with the likes of Dawn Marie and Sable over the years as well as bagging cover shoots for magazines like FHM and Playboy.

When she was inducted into the Hall of Fame six years ago, she said: “I just want to thank you for letting me be just even a small part of your life. And for many of you guys, a part of your puberty.”
