Following their elevation to League One, Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan claims the club has begun a review of “several structures and practices.”

Following a terrible campaign under the leadership of the first team, Erol Bulut, Omer Riza, and Aaron Ramsey will now play third-tier football for the first time since 2003.

Following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion, which confirmed Cardiff’s relegation, some fan bases protested against owner Tan.

The Malaysian businessman has refuted criticism that he has little to do with the club.

His statement read, “I strongly disagree and say I don’t care,” and that is wrong.

The club’s board of directors and the club’s statement acknowledge calls from the club’s hierarchy for communication, as well as acknowledging the “overwhelming feeling of supporter sadness and frustration” following relegation.

The statement further states that “we are determined to address and correct this reality as soon as possible” and that this will be the first time in 22 years that Cardiff City Football Club has not been a Premier League or Championship club.

There will be a thorough review across various structures and practices in order to have the best chance of accomplishing this.

After Riza left the Bluebirds for Cardiff’s final three matches of the season, less than 24 hours after the Bluebirds lost 2-0 to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on April 18 with a 2-0 defeat.

Although Cardiff fell to the bottom of the table, the Wales captain oversaw draws against Oxford United and West Bromwich Albion. Going into their final game of the campaign against Norwich City on Saturday, May 3 (12:30 BST), they are five points clear of 21st-placed Luton Town.

The review will also concentrate on adding a new coaching staff, according to the club.

A new permanent manager and management team that can shape and coach a competitive squad throughout the pre-season and into the 2025-26 campaign will be announced, the statement continued.

As the first step in the development of a strategy, club staff received this internal memo.

As the summer progresses, appointments are made, our revamped playing squad develops, and we rebuild, we commit to sharing additional strategy points with you.

With the dismissal of Bulut in September, Cardiff only managed to draw one point out of its first six matches.

Riza took his place, who had overseen a significant improvement before the club’s fortunes sank once more in the new year.

Prior to the end of his tenure, Riza apologized and apologized after the Supporters’ Trust labeled his remarks “disrespectful.”

Under Ramsey, who said everyone involved with the club “has to look at themselves in the mirror,” Cardiff were unable to achieve the crucial victories they needed.

The Wales midfielder said, “We have to be big enough to accept that and we need to get it right for next season.”
