Tiger Woods claims that his recovery from disc replacement surgery has been “slow,” with no release date set for his return.

Since missing the cut at The Open in July 2024, the 49-year-old has been sidelined.

He had surgery in October of this year because he “experienced back pain and a lack of mobility.”

In the previous ten years, it was his seventh back procedure.

“Unfortunately, I’ve gone through this rehab procedure step-by-step before.

“It took me six weeks to recover from the operation,” the doctor said.

You can’t really do much with a disc replacement, but we now have the authorization to start strengthening and working out in the gym.

The 15-time major champion stated that he was waiting to “get a feel for the recovery process” before making a decision about where and when to come back. He did not specify when.

His initial return was postponed in March because of surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon that he had sustained while training at home.

Since suffering severe injuries in a car accident in February 2021, Woods had already been practicing with a constrained schedule.

Woods, however, insisted that it was “my passion to just play” when asked why he was making yet another comeback after so many injuries.

It’s been a difficult year for me, Woods continued. “I haven’t done that in a long time.”

“I’ve had to watch this year and the end of last year for a number of months.”
