As New Zealand swept past the United States to reclaim the Pacific Four Series title, Portia Woodman-Wickliffe scored seven incredible tries.

The winger’s 45 in 26 Tests eclipsed Vanessa Coutts’ record of 43 in 16 and made her the Black Ferns’ all-time top try scorer.

The Black Ferns had to defeat the Eagles by 25 points and earn a four-try bonus point following Canada’s 45-point victory over Australia on Friday in Brisbane.

In Albany, Auckland, they duly scored 13 tries on Saturday, leading to a crushing 79-14 victory.

The Black Ferns won the World Cup in 2017 and 2022 with Woodman-Wickliffe, setting the record try scorer in the sport.

The 33-year-old left after winning rugby sevens gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but he later changed his mind and now wants to win another World Cup this summer in England.

The Black Ferns scored the USA’s two tries at half-time, scoring 34-14.

In the second half, Ruahei Demant and Stacey Waaka both scored 45 points without reply.
