A woman spotted a fashionable and coveted sports brand when she was out charity shop shopping with pals, and her mate couldn’t believe it as she’d never seen it before
If your New Year’s Resolution is not to buy fast fashion in favour of secondhand goods from charity shops, you may have already taken yourself off to your local stores for a browse. It can be hit and miss as to whether you find anything decent when you’re in a charity shop, but there’s so much to choose from, with some things even coming brand new with tags.
But when one woman spied a coveted sports lifestyle brand in a charity shop, she couldn’t believe her eyes. Her pal admitted that she’d “never seen” that brand in charity shops before, and the price will shock you.
Adanola is a high-quality activewear brand with more accessible prices than some other lifestyle brands. Kendall Jenner even collaborated with them for a collection at the start of 2025, including the Varsity Relaxed Funnel Neck Zip Sweatshirt and Ultimate Strappy Sports Bra.
When Lola Amuah was out shopping with her two pals, she said that they “all found something that day” as she shared the video of her and her friends trying to bag some bargains. Lola found a jacket that she “really liked,” saying it was “weird” because it wasn’t her usual style, but she just felt drawn to it.
“I’ve got to try it on, like, it’s giving like, would you say 90s vibes?” Lola said as she walked to find a mirror so she could see herself in the cream coat.
One of her friends, Carole, found a North Face fleece in her size for just £16.50, a fraction of the normal price. It looked really soft, almost fur-like, and her friend said it was in “immaculate” condition and she’d “love” it for her walks.
Then, Carole gasped as she found an Adanola sports crop top. She looked around for the tag until she found it and exclaimed: “£2.50!” Lola said: “No way, what size is it?” “Size large, it’s my size,” her friend said, as they both couldn’t believe the price of the top.
A similar style top from Adanola’s website, brand new, would set you back around £32, so £2.50 is a bargain in comparison. It looked to be in fantastic condition, almost brand new, but without the tags on it.
Carole said that she had to “find the leggings” to go with the top, saying they “had to be there” somewhere; but alas, they’d either already been snapped up by someone, or weren’t available in the first place. “That’s the first time I’ve ever seen that brand in a charity shop. And you found it!” gushed Lola, who regularly visits charity shops.
Another one of Lola’s friends, Jess, then spotted a leopard print fur coat, brand new with tags for just £25, and it fit her “like a glove”. “It was waiting there for you Jess,” Lola said, as she explained her friend loves fur and leopard print, so to find this was perfect.
In the comments, someone wrote: “That coat looks fab on you!! I had a good charity shop bargain yesterday, a Jellycat for £8!” Lola replied: “What a steal. Do you know which one?”
They said: “It’s a monkey, it was in a charity shop here in Brighton, I couldn’t believe it, I’ve wanted a Jellycat for so long”. Speaking about the jacket Lola tried on, a woman complimented: “It’s giving old money apres ski”.
Buying from charity shops can be a more affordable way to find clothing, books, homeware, and other items. Shopping in these stores also supports charitable organisations, as the money spent goes towards various good causes, helping communities and people in need.
