After the alleged incident, a woman who claimed a former British Got Talent contestant had raped her claimed she spent the night at home because she “felt frozen.”
Andrew Johnston, 30, is currently facing charges of raping and sexually assaulting one woman and raping another woman. He was a singer on the television program in 2008 and was a singer on it. According to Maryam Syed KC, the prosecutor, the alleged offences took place several years after Johnston made an appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Ms. Syed claimed that Johnston had engaged in sexual activity “consensual” with one complainant, but he removed his condom, and the complainant repeatedly told him to stop, but he did not. One of the complainants claimed that Johnston held her hands on her throat while holding her arms in his other hand in a video interview.
The woman testified to the jury on Friday that she continued to work after the alleged rape because she “felt frozen.” It would have been possible to leave at some point in the night, according to Rupert Kent, who was defending.
She responded, “It was challenging for me. I felt anchored and flung back. I felt confined and unable to move. I was anxious and feeling stuck. Later, the woman claimed that when she saw the defendant at a club, he “groped my bum,” then “grabbed me by the shoulders and forced kissed me.”
Mr. Kent told the woman on Thursday afternoon that Johnston had sex with her and that he had sex with her, which she claimed he did when they were being cross-examined. The woman responded, “no,” when Mr. Kent suggested that she “exaggerated or embellished what might be considered hard or energetic consensual sex.”
She responded, “It’s not a lie,” and he told her that the allegation was “deliberate lie.” According to the prosecution, the other complainant asked the defendant to use a condom after confessing to police that she had had sexual relations with him in secret.
The woman claimed that no matter how many times the defendant removed his hands from her neck, she continued to claim that he kept putting his hands back around her throat. She “indicated that he once again put his hands around her throat,” and he then stopped and removed the condom before continuing with the conversation.
Johnston, of Carlisle, Cumbria, denies two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The trial is advancing.
