Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, introduced his infant daughter to the public for the first time during the premiere of his documentary, Wizkid: Long Live Lagos, at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
Accompanied by his longtime partner and manager, Jada Pollock, the Grammy-winning artiste turned heads on the red carpet as he proudly cradled the six-month-old baby girl, dressed in a matching white ensemble.
Despite the documentary being the main focus of the premiere, the family moment stole the spotlight and quickly went viral, drawing admiration across social media.
Moments after the premiere, Wizkid later took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to reveal the child’s name—Morayo Balogun—a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Jane Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
The name “Morayo”, meaning “I see joy”, resonated with fans familiar with the emotional weight of his mother’s death.
The red carpet appearance marked not only the premiere of Wizkid’s highly anticipated documentary but also the baby’s first public outing.

Jada, glowing in a pink-and-white tie-dye dress with red sunglasses, stood beside Wizkid and Morayo as the family posed for photographs and interacted warmly with fans and the press.
Until now, Wizkid and Jada had kept Morayo’s identity private, only offering subtle hints and blurred glimpses. Her arrival was speculated in early 2024, though she is believed to have been born in late 2023.
The couple also share two sons: Zion, born in 2017, and a second child welcomed in October 2022.
Wizkid: Long Live Lagos, one of the international features at Tribeca this year, is a portrayal of the singer’s journey from the streets of Surulere to global stardom.
It chronicles his cultural impact, the evolution of Afrobeats, and his sold-out concert at London’s Tottenham Stadium. The film features appearances from Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, Julie Adenuga, and others in Wizkid’s close circle, painting a vivid picture of the artist’s roots and rise.
