Due to growing uncertainty over his future, Brentford forward Yoane Wissa has left the team’s pre-season training facility in Portugal.

The 28-year-old has returned from the Bees’ training camp, according to information obtained by BBC Sport.

Three Premier League clubs that are interested in Wissa will now speak with Brentford director of football Phil Giles.

The DR Congo international has strong interest among Newcastle, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest.

It is understood that agreeing personal terms, particularly with Tottenham or Newcastle, whose efforts to land Wissa have increased in the last 48 hours, will not be an issue. All three clubs are capable of offering him European football next season.

According to Wikipedia, Wissa is believed to have been uneasy by recent speculation about his future.

If he stays a Brentford player, he is anticipated to rejoin the team when they return to London.

Brentford recently attempted to start negotiations with Wissa regarding a new contract, but it is understood that he would prefer to leave this summer.

It follows Bryan Mbeumo’s initial £65 million switch to Manchester United from Brentford.

This summer, Brentford initially had no desire to lose both Mbeumo and Wissa.

However, Wissa’s 29th birthday is likely to be a factor in the case of a depreciating asset, who could be charged upwards of £40 million over the summer, if not more.

Another factor to consider is that he only has 12 months left on his current contract despite having the option to renew it by another year.

Wissa, who joined Brentford from Lorient in August 2021, has scored 49 goals in all of their matches.

In 35 Premier League games last season, he scored 19 goals.
