After falling 1-1 at Fulham on Sunday, Manchester United are still without a Premier League victory, while Everton, who embodied Jack Grealish, won 2-0 at Brighton to open their new stadium.

As they were relegated to Craven Cottage, Bruno Fernandes’ side were left to rue their first-half penalty at the hands of Ruben Amorim.

On the hour mark, Rodrigo Muniz scored the winning goal, but Fulham rallied back on the bench to save a point.

Amorim’s new £200 million ($270 million) forward line, which includes Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, has not yet fired despite a disastrous 15th-place finish last season.

United will now feel as though another two points have been lost in west London following their season opener against title-chasing Arsenal, which ended in a 1-0 defeat.

However, Fulham believed that two contentious calls were handled favorably by the visitors.

Following a VAR review of Calvin Bassey’s grappling on Mason Mount, United received the penalty.

Although Fernandes is typically trustworthy right away, he blasted his effort over the bar.

United did finally score their season opener through Leny Yoro’s header after a Fulham body as Muniz deflected the ball into his own net.

However, the home side complained that Yoro had pushed Bassey this time and VAR did not intervene.

When Smith Rowe, a former Arsenal midfielder, ran into the box before turning in Alex Iwobi’s cross 17 minutes from time, Fulham still managed to save the game.

Everton’s newest era

Everton are hoping the move to a new 53, 000 capacity stadium will rekindle their bygone glory days after a heartfelt bid to the club’s former home, Goodison Park, which they have owned since 1892.

Only four clubs have won more titles than Everton’s nine in English football.

However, they haven’t won a significant trophy in 30 years and have struggled to stay in the top three at Goodison.

“We’re trying to move the club forward,” the club said. Manager David Moyes praised the move as a significant step forward for Everton.

Grealish has so far been Moyes’ most notable addition to his squad and has shown glimpses of the talent that led to Manchester City’s purchase of Aston Villa for $ 100 million in 2014. He also provided the assist for both goals.

In May, Iliman Ndiaye scored the final goal for Goodison against Southampton, and he also made history with his first goal at Everton’s new stadium.

Ndiaye perfectly timed his run to meet at the back post in 23 minutes after a drilled left foot cross that Grealish had created.

Brighton wasted a lot of chances by leaving Merseyside empty-handed.

Danny Welbeck spooned over with the goal gaping as Kaoru Mitoma hit the bar and Jan Paul van Hecke’s effort hit the post.

Early in the second period, James Garner’s blistering strike from Grealish’s lay-off doubled Everton’s lead.

Welbeck’s poor penalty was saved by Jordan Pickford to cap a memorable afternoon for the Toffees, but Brighton still had a chance to create a nervy finale.

Nuno no go

Nuno Espirito Santo, manager of Nottingham Forest, vowed to stay in charge despite their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Ismaila Sarr’s first-half opener for Palace was saved by Callum Hudson-Odoi, who scored the winning goal.

As a result of the slim chances that Nuno would become the first Premier League manager of the season to be fired, Nuno claimed on Friday that his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis had deteriorated.

That is absurd. The Portuguese coach, who questioned whether he was trying to engineer a club exit, said, “That makes no sense.”
