Wilson set to stay at West Ham despite exit talks

After putting negotiations over his contract termination on hold, West Ham have put off plans for Callum Wilson’s departure from the club this month.

Wilson was having advanced discussions with the club about letting him leave his summertime contract.

Wilson will remain at the London Stadium until the end of the season, according to a senior Hammers official who intervened to put an end to those discussions.

Wilson scored a last-minute winner in Saturday’s London derby against Tottenham, adding to the development.

In order for Wilson to find another club as a free transfer, West Ham and Wilson had begun discussions over ending his contract.

The 33-year-old is expected to remain until the summer, but those plans have now been put on hold.
