A violinist who claims he was fired for reporting sexual harassment is suing Will Smith.
After claiming that he was subject to a “traumatic series of events” while working on Will’s Based on a True Story: 2025 global tour in March 2025, Brian King Joseph filed a lawsuit against the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star and his Treyball Studios Management, Inc. company.
Smith’s attorney has refuted the allegations, saying that “Mr. Joseph’s claims regarding my client are false, baseless, and reckless.” We will use all legal means to refute these claims and make sure the truth is revealed when they are categorically denied.
The former America’s Got Talent finalist claimed in a lawsuit filed in California Superior Court earlier this week that an unauthorised person had gained access to his Las Vegas hotel room and left him a disturbing message.
He claimed that an unknown person left “sexual threat of violence” evidence that included “wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication with the name of another person, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork” belonging to another person.
A note with the words “Brian, I’ll be back… just us” written on it reads, “I’ll be back… just us,” and has a heart and the name Stone F.
The lawsuit asserted that Will had been “deliberately grooming and priming Mr. Joseph for further sexual exploitation” prior to the alleged incident.
During one meeting, the King Richard star allegedly said, “You and I have such a special connection that I don’t have with anyone else.”
The complaint went on to explain how Will’s management misplaced Brian’s bag, which included his hotel room key. According to the lawsuit, “the circumstances of the hotel intrusion all point to a pattern of predatory behavior rather than an isolated incident.”
The musician reported the incident to hotel staff, a nearby non-emergency police line, and Will’s management after discovering that someone had entered his room, but he claimed one of the team “shamed” him and threatened to fire him.
The complaint claimed Brian’s dismissal was retaliatory, and that another violinist’s prompt hiring was an attempt to cover up his departure from the tour.
Following the alleged incident and subsequent events, Brian claimed he had “PTSD and other mental illnesses,” and he also sought compensation for “severe emotional distress, economic loss, reputational harm, and other damages.”
