After receiving praise for her performance as Glinda in Wicked, the music star and actress Ariana Grande has revealed her plans for her Hollywood career and her summer tour of the United States.
Ariana Grande has revealed her upcoming Eternal Sunshine arena tour – as she plans to take a break from music. The singer, 32, admitted that her pop career has “taken over” her life and that she is finally learning to prioritise other passions.
Ariana reflected on the tour, claiming it would be a chance to put everything into her performances before ceasing from international touring.
She expressed her excitement about the small tour. But I believe it won’t happen again in a very long time. I’m going to give it my all, and I’m so grateful for it. It will be beautiful. I believe that’s the justification for my actions. Because I’m having one last good time. For now”.
The pop superstar, who released her chart-topping album Eternal Sunshine in March 2024, is set to embark on her first major tour in seven years next summer, performing across the US and Canada before concluding with 10 nights at London’s O2 Arena.
The singer acknowledged that once she realized how difficult her musical career had become, she made the decision to halt her tour. She explained that “that’s something that is learned over time.” I didn’t have that at all when I started all of this and my pop career kind of took over my life.
She continued, “I just feel a lot more connected to my art and myself now that I’ve started doing different things.” Although I spent a lot of time only performing pop music, I grew up as a girl who enjoyed musical theater and comedy. I believe that pursuing things that feel very right in the moment, even if it’s something completely different and spontaneous, will do the best for my soul and my art.
In recent years, Ariana has focused on acting, most notably in Wicked, where she starred alongside Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey. Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are also on the set of Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller for her next film, Fockers In-Law.
Ariana explained what she hoped to accomplish with her on-screen career, saying, “I’m going to do a small stint of shows next year because that really sounded good to me.”
Following those authentic impulses feels like a really good idea, like a good thing, and there are then other things that are different.
The singer-actress first rose to fame on Nickelodeon as Cat Valentine in Victorious and Sam & Cat before becoming one of the world’s biggest pop stars, with seven UK No.1 singles, seven studio albums, multiple streaming records, and two Grammy Awards.
The TV star continued, “I feel very fortunate and grateful to have discovered that there can be room for various creative endeavors,” referring to the upcoming phase of her life. It will, in my opinion, change a lot. I believe that the ten or fifteen years to come will be very different from those that will follow.
Fans will soon be able to see her on screen because Ariana and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked for Good is scheduled to release in UK theaters this week.
