The US is reportedly leaving UNESCO because it believes it is concerned about divisions.
UNESCO was established in the wake of World War II with the bold idea of promoting peace through science, education, and culture.
One of its founding members, the United States, is now stepping down from the UN agency again because of what it refers to as “anti-Israel bias.”
Critics claim that the decision is the result of a deeper shift, including a rejection of international norms and a retreat from multilateral diplomacy.
They add that it raises questions about US support for international cooperation and leadership.
