Since its debut on July 1, Britain’s Got Talent on ITV has been the catalyst for many prosperous careers.

It has been around for almost 20 years and offers performers a venue to showcase their skills to a sizable audience. This Saturday, the new BGT series will debut.

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will be making a spectacular return to ITV, along with YouTuber KSI, as well as judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli.

Let’s take a look at some of the highest-earners to come from BGT as the show continues to find new talent.

Susan Boyle

After appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 and coming in second place, Susan Boyle became a global sensation. Her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, sold over 10 million copies worldwide. It was the UK’s fastest-selling debut album and went multi-platinum. It’s estimated that her total earnings exceed £30 million ($40 million), with income from album sales, worldwide tours, and media appearances.

Susan, who was born and raised in Blackburn, West Lothian, only makes very rare singing appearances these days so when she made a surprise return to the stage at the Britain’s Got Talent finale in 2023, she shocked and delighted viewers.

The talented Scot, now 63, appeared on the show alongside the cast of Les Misérables – just as she did in 2009 – and received a standing ovation. She had a rare appearance at the Tokyo Olympics’ opening ceremony in 2021, but she hasn’t been on tour since 2020 and has cut back on public appearances.

Paul Potts

In 2007, Paul Potts won BGT’s inaugural season. His debut album One Chance went multi-platinum, and he has sold millions of records globally. Paul’s earnings are estimated to be around £7 million, made through album sales, live performances, and various media ventures.

He made an appearance on The Masked Singer’s German edition in 2022. Before being discovered by the judges, Paul entered the third show dressed as a giant Koala suit. He was the UK’s only representative in the competition.

Diversity

Diversity, the dance group that won BGT in 2009, became hugely successful after their win. The group consists of Ashley Banjo, Jordan Banjo, Perri Kiely, Sam Craske, and Mitchell Craske and many more. They’ve done multiple national tours, appeared at major events and starred in TV shows. The dance group were even torchbearers at the 2012 Olympics. Back in 2020, Perri had an estimated net worth of £140, 000, while Ashley’s was around £736, 000.

George Sampson won BGT in 2008 with his street dance performances. He has since then given performances in the West End and on various TV shows. His estimated earnings are just over £1 million, made from acting, dancing, and other projects.

The actor is now regularly showcasing his skills on national stage. In 2024, George played the lead in a UK-touring Robin Hood pantomime.

Collabro

Collabro took BGT by storm and became global performers
Collabro established a global reputation for BGT (PA).

Collabro, the musical theatre group that won BGT in 2014, consists of Michael Auger, Thomas J. Redgrave, Jamie Lambert, Matt Pagan, and Richard Hadfield. With the release of their debut album and subsequent tours, the band has had a lot of success. Their annual income is thought to be in the millions.

The group, which was formed just one month prior to their audition, saw their debut album Stars reach the top of the charts immediately following the audition. Collabro have toured the UK, Japan, Canada, and the US since their second album reached number two. The band made a farewell tour announcement in 2022 and announced they were no longer touring.
