Tell Me Lies fans are eager to know more about the actor who plays new character Alex
*Warning: This article contains spoilers for Tell Me Lies Season 3.*
The third season of Tell Me Lies has introduced a new character, Alex, who has quickly become a talking point among viewers. The popular drama made its return on January 13, with three brand-new episodes.
As in previous seasons, the narrative continues to follow the tumultuous relationship between Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) and Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten), along with their circle of friends at Baird College.
In the first episode, we meet Alex, the university’s go-to drug dealer, when Wrigley (Spencer House) asks Molly (Katherine Hughes) about where he can find some MDMA.
Later, Pippa (Sonia Mena) and Bree (Cat Missal) meet Alex in his car to make the purchase, but Bree feels a sense of familiarity towards him.
The connection between Bree and Alex becomes clearer in the second episode, as the ‘Puswas’ reach out to him for anti-anxiety medication for Lucy.
Upon arrival, Alex helps Lucy manage her panic attack by tapping his fingers on her wrist, a technique previously taught to the group by Bree during their first year, reports the Manchester Evening News.
As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Alex is Bree’s former foster brother. He recognised her but was unsure if she was intentionally ignoring him.
While the former ‘siblings’ seemed to share a close relationship, it appears they also have a troubled history. Bree told Lucy later in the programme that she first met Alex at a troubled foster home.
As fans wait for more details about their family history, they’re keen to learn more about rising star Costa D’Angelo.
Who is Costa D’Angelo?
D’Angelo is an Italian-Australian actor who completed his bachelor’s degree in acting at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2022. He started pursuing his passion for performing at just 12 years old, whilst working as a child model.
In a 2023 interview with the Casting Guild of Australia, the TV star disclosed that his first audition tape was for Angelina Jolie’s war drama, Unbroken.
Reflecting on the audition experience, he said: “I remember I got through one round and they said ‘We’d love to see you again’ and then another round. And a few months [went] by and they said ‘It’s between you and another kid for this role in Angelina Jolie’s film.'”

However, he didn’t secure the role. “I was devastated because trust me I told everyone that I was going to be in a movie and it didn’t end up happening. But from there, I think I just fell in love with it and thought ‘You know what, I need to give this a crack now,'” D’Angelo admitted.
Prior to Tell Me Lies, D’Angelo had stints in Australia’s much-loved soap opera Neighbours and the sci-fi thriller Crazy Fun Park.
The young actor is slated to play Young Adam Trask in the forthcoming Netflix limited series, East of Eden, and has landed the role of Owen Boone in the streaming giant’s hockey series produced by Shawn Levy.
