Following the international break, Premier League teams have named their squads, and European club football returns.

Federico Chiesa has been omitted from Liverpool’s squad, but 15-year-old Max Dowman is in line to become the youngest player to make the Champions League after being chosen for Arsenal.

Chiesa, a Liverpool forward, is Arne Slot’s 22-man squad’s most well-known absentee.

Up to 25 players can be named by clubs, with a maximum of 17 of whom were not “locally trained.”

Rio Ngumoha, a teenager who scored a stunning winner last month at Newcastle, has been chosen.

The six-time European Cup winners have a new addition in the form of Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giovanni Leoni, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Freddie Woodman.

Dowman, a 15-year-old midfielder, has been chosen for Arsenal’s 23-man squad, but Gabriel Jesus, who is out injured, will not.

If Dowman, who was born on December 31, 2009, becomes the youngest player to play in the Champions League before turning 16 years old, he will become the youngest player to do so.

Youssoufa Moukoko, a striker who played for Borussia Dortmund at the age of 16 and 18 days, holds the record.

Although Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are missing, they can be added to the squad list B, which is made up of players under the age of 21 who have been eligible for the first team for at least two years.

Jesus is recovering from a January knee injury.

Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, and Viktor Gyokeres are among Arsenal’s eight senior summer signings.

Facundo Buonanotte has been cut from his 23-man squad, according to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

In his first interview with the club, the Argentina international, who signed on a season-long loan from Brighton, described the “possibility to play in the Champions League for the first time.”

Thomas Frank, the manager of Tottenham, has omitted Mathys Tel from his squad for a sum of $ 30 million.

Kota Takai, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Radu Dragusin are among the summer signings who have been named, but Randal Kolo Muani and Xavi Simons are not.

In Eddie Howe’s squad, Newcastle United signed forwards Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade in place of departed striker Alexander Isak.

Aaron Ramsdale, Antony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey, and Malick Thiaw, all signed this summer, have also been a part of Newcastle.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, who joined Manchester City on transfer deadline day and helped Paris St-Germain win the Champions League last year, is one of four goalkeepers in the squad.

Pep Guardiola chose France’s Rayan Cherki despite the fact that he was expected to miss two months with an injury.

Hutchinson is not included in his 22-man Europa League squad, according to Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

The winger, who moved to Forest from Ipswich for £37.5 million, was left out along with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jair Cunha, and Cuiabano, two other recent additions.

Forwards Taiwo Awoniyi and Jota Silva have not been named because of their involvement with moves away from the City Ground.

Ross Barkley is the only player who is missing from Aston Villa’s 21-man squad.

Emiliano Martinez makes his debut for Argentina after failing to secure a move away from Villa Park before the transfer deadline.

Victor Lindelof, Harvey Elliott, and Jadon Sancho have all been chosen as recent signings.

What are the European squad regulations?

Two lists of players must be submitted for each Uefa competition.

Clubs on list A are allowed to submit a maximum of 25 players, with eight spots reserved for only homegrown players.

At least four “club-trained” players and four “association-trained” players must make up these eight.

Players who meet the club-trained criteria must have been on the club’s books for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21, per Uefa regulations.

Any player who has played for three years, regardless of nationality, between the ages of 15 and 21, has played for the association they are currently affiliated with.

As long as the players are born on or after January 1, 2004, a club can register an unlimited number of players for the season on List B.

List A squads for the 36 contenders for the Champions League league stage were released on Wednesday, while list B players must be made by the deadline of 23:00 BST the day before each game.
