With a victory over Andorra on Saturday, England maintained their 100% record for qualifying for World Cup 2026. But did anyone do well?

Beginning XI

Jordan Pickford’s England goalkeeper had a very quiet game. No forced saves, so the players in front of him simply passed the ball to start the attacks. 6

Reece James: Tuchel seems to have secured the right-back position with him. With a superb cross, he commended his quality on the ball and assisted Declan Rice for the second goal. 7

Marc Guehi: Because he typically plays the left-sided role, he was given the title of right-sided centre-back. He performed well as hoped, reserving John Stones’ injured place. They should start at England’s World Cup starting center-backs if those two are healthy. 6

Dan Burn is given the task of moving forward with the ball, not to be tested defensively. dominant in the air, he had little else to do. 6

Lewis-Skelly did not perform any significant defensive play, like the rest of the back four did. Instead of veering into midfield as we see him do for Arsenal, he played a more conventional left-back position to create width. 6

Elliot Anderson made a solid Nottingham Forest debut. Comfortable in front of the England back four when the ball is in possession and marshalls the space. He appeared to have been a long time member of his nation in that capacity. had a good chance to score, but his shot fell short. A very good start to international football, albeit not particularly defensively tested. 7.5

Declan Rice has continued to play the number eight position at Arsenal as Thomas Tuchel tries to maximize his running prowess. Before being replaced, scored the second goal with a strong header. 7

Eberechi Eze: With so many other options left out, there is a chance for Eze to impress in the number 10 slot. had a good chance in the first half but a bad chance in the second half. The opening goal was a crucial pass that he made, but the pitch was congested in the middle. not had his best game. 6

Marcus Rashford: Started off strong, outminating two opponents with outstanding skill. had a good chance to score after Eze’s rebound, but it went wide. In the second half, substituted. 6

Noni Madueke: Like Rashford, Madueke made an effort to take his man wherever they came. In another positive appearance on an England shirt, he was shown an early yellow card. His cross was headed into the opening goal for Andorra. 7

Substitutes

After the game was tied at 2-0, Tino Livramento came on in the 68th minute. Always utilizing his potent running to influence events. 6

Anthony Gordon took Rashford’s place with few opportunities to make a difference. 5

Morgan Rogers is transferred to a senior midfield position from Kane. Back at his home club, Gordon struggled to get involved, as usual. 6

Ezri Konsa was brought in to replace Guehi, but she was untested. 6
