Amanda Holden has become our new style icon, with everything she wears looking so stylish and cool while actually being mostly from the high street. She recently stepped out in a trendy River Island denim co-ord, and she’s gone back to the brand again for another co-ord, this time in a ‘ highland check ‘ print.

Amanda posted a paparazzi pic on her Instagram story, and we spotted that she was wearing River Island’s Brown Check Pocket Detail Jacket, £59, paired with River Island’s matching Brown Check Flared Trousers, £39. After the popularity of Claudia Winkleman’s The Traitors wardrobe, highland fling fashion, including checks and tartans, is completely on trend for the new season.

Amanda teamed her co-ord with a light camel-coloured longline coat and some pointed-heeled boots and added a pop of colour to the neutral outfit with a vibrant orange handbag. We love how Amanda layered this set perfectly for spring and gave us a bit of styling inspiration on how to wear it.

The jacket is a slightly cropped, structured, lightweight layer featuring utility-style pocket details, and the trousers feature a slightly flared leg, helping to elongate the legs.
