Josh Tapper appeared on Gogglebox alongside his family from 2013 to 2017 – but where is the former TV star now?
Gogglebox’s Josh Tapper was a firm favourite on the Channel 4 show – but what is he up to now?
Josh made his debut on the programme when he was just 15, during its first-ever series back in 2013, alongside the rest of his family: dad Jonathan, mum Nikki, and sister Amy.
And it’s fair to say it didn’t take long for the Tapper family to become firm favourites with fans, thanks to their hilarious quips, never failing to make the viewers laugh.
Sadly, though, the family called it quits from the show when son Josh left Gogglebox in 2017 to work in government after landing a Civil Service apprenticeship. Amy followed suit and quit to appear on Celebs Go Dating in 2018.
At the time, a source told The Mirror: “Channel 4 will, of course, keep the door open for him [Josh], but it’s a really exciting opportunity for him. It’s a much-coveted job. Josh has already started having meetings within No.10.”
Meanwhile, talking about his time on the show, Josh revealed in 2022 that it “suddenly blew up out of nowhere” for him and his family. He told Jewish News: “I spent the next five years living that life while also trying to live a normal life.
“But I was the guy who was on TV. My days were long as we were filming the scenes in addition to school.”
In 2022, Josh made a move into politics, announcing his intention to run for a Labour MP. He was selected as the candidate for Hertsmere and shared his excitement on X, formerly Twitter: “I’m thrilled and honoured to have been selected as Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Hertsmere.
“Thank you so much to local members for your support – I won’t let you down. The work to unseat the Deputy Prime Minister starts now!”
In 2024, Josh was chosen as the Labour candidate in a bid to unseat Oliver Dowden from Parliament and said he was feeling “thrilled and honoured” to be selected. Despite Oliver Dowden holding the seat since 2019, Josh was defeated by 7,992 votes.
Meanwhile, more recently, Josh married his long-term partner, Hannah, after being together for nine years. The announcement of Josh’s wedding in March 2025 was shared by his sister, Amy, who posted a collection of photos and videos from the joyous family celebration.
Expressing her excitement, Amy wrote: “The New Mr and Mrs Tapper! No words to describe this incredible day from start to finish…”
She continued: “I’d say welcome to the family @hannahtapper_ but you’ve been a part of it for 9 years now… this just means officially forever. I love you both more than words will ever describe @joshtapper.”
