According to videos posted on social media, the car reversed and then accelerated, hitting people on both sides of the road, causing an angry bystander.

Numerous people were thrown onto the bonnet or knocked over. One child suffered serious injuries among the others who were trapped beneath the car.

How many people were hurt?

Four children were among the 47 people who were hurt, according to the emergency services.

According to Liverpool region mayor Steve Rotheram, 67 people were taken to the hospital, with four of them in critical condition.

On Monday evening, twenty more people received treatment at the scene and made their way home.

How about the bus driver?

In an unprecedented move to quell social media speculation, Merseyside Police made the announcement that “a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area was arrested.”

The ethnic makeup of suspects is not typically disclosed by British police.

However, the force had to deal with the aftermath of a large-scale stabbing that occurred in nearby Southport last year and resulted in the deaths of three young girls at a dance party with Taylor Swift in mind.

Far-right organizations’ online rumors about the attacker’s identity were to blame for widespread riots aimed at asylum seekers.

What caused it to occur?

Jenny Sims, the assistant chief constable for Merseyside police, rejected the idea of “terrorism.”

She stated at a news conference on Monday evening, “We don’t know if this is an isolated incident, and we aren’t looking for anyone else in relation to it.”

Police have not released the identity of the man arrested or provided an explanation for why the incident occurred in accordance with law.

On a road that was closed to traffic, drivers are being asked how they came to be in panic and how they were surrounded by angry crowds.

The parade’s driver appeared emotional and agitated, according to Harry Rashid, a witness.

His hands were swaying around. He continued, “I believe they tried to pull the door open before he tried to close it.” “They tried to pull the door open before he tried to close it,” he said.
