Shedeur Sanders was reportedly withdrawn from the first round of the draft this year, according to some NFL analysts.

No one predicted that the first overall pick, the first pick in NFL history, would experience the most dramatic decline.

The quarterback’s selection didn’t occur until the 144th pick, which caused a national conversation and debates in American churches. Even the President stepped in.

NFL evaluators and other parties claimed that the 23-year-old’s attitude and ability were the result of racism before and after the draft, while others claimed that these assessments were false.

With Sanders facing yet another battle to prove himself after being chosen by the Cleveland Browns, that was just the start of one of the NFL’s most intriguing storylines.

Since the Browns already signed two quarterbacks and drafted another, he was immediately thrust into a four-way quarterback contest.

What was said about Sanders’ draft slide?

US President Donald Trump questioned whether NFL team owners are “stupid,” stating that the former Colorado quarterback “should be picked right away” after Sanders’ undrafted first round pick.

Veteran sports commentator Skip Bayless described it as “the most stunning and disgusting development in NFL draft history,” and it wasn’t selected until the fifth round on the third and final day.

Because his college coach, Deion Sanders, a two-time Super Bowl winner, and Shedeur is already a wealthy celebrity in his own right through NIL deals in college, he was called a ” nepo baby,” as well as arrogant and entitled.

Jamaal Bowman, a former member of the Democratic congress, claimed Shedeur was “a rapper” because he “wears gold chains and speaks like a rapper.”

He continued, “America continues to fear strong black men who have strong sense of themselves without restraining themselves from the ‘dominant’ culture.”

Some adored Sanders’ demise. After his son prank-called Sanders during the draft, the Atlanta Falcons and their defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, were fined.

One fan, in addition, filed a $100 million lawsuit against the NFL for “slanderous statements” about Sanders, which “influened the NFL’s decision-making process.” The fan also asserts that the team’s owners engaged in racial discrimination.

Since the draft, what has happened?

Sanders reported for duty in Cleveland two weeks after the draft, saying he was attempting to get the most out of the draft.

He said, “I don’t even try to think about that day.” “I’m just ready to work and excited to be here.

My goal is to prove myself right, not to convince others.

His every move has been closely watched from the moment he arrived. Sanders erred in June when he was caught speeding twice in Ohio, which is unprecedented for a fifth-round draft pick.

Andrew Berry, the Browns’ general manager, described it as “just not smart,” and that we should have addressed it with him.

Sanders’ attitude has since been praised by his new team-mates. He has attended numerous community events, including one he himself hosted after a fatal apartment fire in Cleveland, and has practiced early and left late.

Jimmy Haslam, the team’s owner, said, “I know everyone has a vision of Shedeur, but he’s come in the building, worked hard, kept his head down, and done what’s supposed to do.

The “circumstances” that surround Sanders, including his outspoken father, may have turned off other teams, but Shedeur advised Deion to avoid the Browns’ training camp.

He said, “I want to get where I want to go, and then he wants to see me.” I don’t want any distractions, and I want everything to be focused.

Cleveland are desperate to find a solution after a terrible run with quarterbacks over the past few seasons due to poor luck and judgment.

Sanders’ fight to be selected

Before hamstring issues for Pickett and Gabriel opened the door for Sanders, they spent most of the first week of training camp with Cleveland’s first team.

He impressed in his first pre-season game, bringing some of the swag he showed in college to the NFL.

After that, Sanders was unable to face the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the Super Bowl last year, because of an oblique injury in training.

The Browns then announced that 40-year-old Flacco would start for the team this year, and he, Gabriel, and Sanders all featured in their final pre-season game on Saturday, along with Tyler Huntley, as expected.

After a less impressive display by Sanders, coach Kevin Stefanski put Huntley in to lead a game-winning drive, and he was hired as insurance after all the injuries, and the following day, he was released.

Although Berry was open to the idea, it was “not realistic” to keep all four quarterbacks as Cleveland reduced the 90-man squad to a 53-man active roster, according to Stefanski.

Sanders remained fourth on the depth chart despite being given no confirmation as to who would play quarterback for them.

However, the Browns traded Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders on the eve of cut-down day, which is set for 21:00 BST on Tuesday.

Flacco’s backup may be used as a “bridge quarterback,” allowing rookies Gabriel and Sanders to develop before failing to do so, or poor results compel a change, given Cleveland’s difficult start to the season.

Sanders’ lack of first-team time in practice has drawn criticism from the Browns.
