Following Rehanne Skinner’s dismissal, West Ham are set to appoint Rita Guarino as their women’s team manager.
The Italian, who has yet to prove herself outside of Italy, has won 99 caps for her country as a player.
She previously helped Juventus win four successive Serie A titles, most recently leading Inter Milan between 2021 and 2024.
The 54-year-old has worked with youth teams since starting out as a head coach and assistant for Italy’s under-17s.
West Ham fired Skinner on Thursday after only one of their 11 Women’s Super League games this year.
Before the winter break, West Ham allegedly had been monitoring Guarino’s availability in order to appoint her.
West Ham will see Guarino’s arrival as a bold move because she is relatively unknown in England.
