Callum Wilson’s contract with West Ham is about to expire, according to a report from the club.

Wilson made four goals in 18 appearances for West Ham while on a free transfer.

However, the arrival of forwards Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos this month will limit the Englishman’s first-team chances.

The 33-year-old wants to continue playing regular first-team football and is reluctant to step up to a peripheral role.

Wilson’s departure is anticipated, according to sources who confirmed that negotiations to release him from the Hammers’ remaining six months are currently being finalized.

Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed the discussions on Monday, saying: “Me and Callum, we had a lot of conversations about that situation just 10 minutes ago.

“I think there are two strikers in.” These strikers have joined, in my opinion. Callum, who has played professionally for a long time, is a very knowledgeable player who understands how his position has changed.
