Wembley Stadium have announced they are launching an investigation into claims fans snuck into the recent Oasis concerts without a ticket.

It has been claimed around 200 ticketless fans were able to sneak into the venue via a disabled entrance as Liam and Noel Gallagher took to the stage at Wembley. A large group were reportedly able to use copies of the same ticket before gaining entry and being handed VIP wristbands to watch the group in their reunion tour.

It has been alleged two unnamed women were behind the reported scam and approached fans via Facebook groups for buying and selling tickets to Oasis shows. It comes after Paul Weller reveals the unusual reason he refuses to watch Oasis concerts.

It was claimed punters who were contacted via social media were told to pay a £10 deposit before being invited into a WhatsApp group, where fans were given a meeting point.

A fan has claimed: “Two women came and met us. They drew a shape on our hands and then a ticket was put into the WhatsApp group which we were to use. One of the women told me they were in a hurry because they had ‘ten groups of 20 people’ to get into the stadium.

“They told us all to go to entrance M and head to the disabled entrance,” they told The Sun.

It’s been claimed their stamped hands were shown to a person on the door and they “scanned the copied tickets” before the fans were handed a golden circle wristband each and given “zero security searches” and “walked straight in” to the gig.

Meanwhile, fans were supposed to transfer money into one of the women’s Monzo accounts but many didn’t do so, reports claim.

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium has said: “Entering Wembley stadium without a ticket is a serious offence and we are investigating these allegations. If they are substantiated, we will refer our evidence to the police.”

It comes after Oasis fan Lee Claydon tragically fell to his death after slipping on spilled beer at the sell-out gig in Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.

Lee Claydon, 45, is believed to have fallen from the arena’s upper tier just as the sell-out gig wrapped on Saturday night. The dad, from Bournemouth, was described as a “lifelong” fan of the Gallagher brothers and was at the gig alongside his brother Aaron, and his niece and nephew. Lee tragically died at the scene despite the best efforts of medics who desperately tried to save his life.

After the news emerged, Oasis said they were “shocked and saddened” to hear of the death during their sell-out Wembley show this weekend. The band said in a statement: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said: “Wembley Stadium operates to a very high health and safety standard, fully meeting legal requirements for the safety of spectators and staff, and is certified to and compliant with the ISO 45001 standard.

“We are regularly inspected by certifying authorities both on an event day and throughout the year, and we regularly review and test our plans to ensure adherence to the conditions set within the stadium’s general safety certificate.
