We don’t deserve Club World Cup bonus – Guardiola

Fifa, the world’s governing body, announced the rewards for participating in the expanded 32-team competition earlier this week in the United States.

The top clubs in Europe are expected to take home the majority of the trophy, with both City and Chelsea in line to win the biggest prize in club football by winning it, both of whom qualified by winning the Champions League in 2023 and 2020, respectively.

City kick off their campaign against Moroccan side Wydad in Philadelphia on June 18th. They have been drawn against Italian rivals Juventus and Al Ain from Abu Dhabi.

Even if City win the title at the MetLife Stadium on July 13, Guardiola believes that a general campaign, in which his team were eliminated from the Champions League before the last-16 stage for the first time since 2013 and are currently fifth in the Premier League under severe pressure to advance to Europe’s elite competition next season, should not be a plus.

Guardiola claimed that the season’s “we don’t deserve a bonus.” If you win, I’m not sure how much of the bonus goes to the club.

We don’t deserve anything from the managers, the backroom staff, the players, not even a watch, they say.

Premier League confirmed on Thursday that top-flight organizations will be able to profit from a first transfer window, which will open between June 1 and June, before the tournament, when competing organizations will be allowed to add players to their squads for the knockout stages.

It implies that Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan’s involvement will be, if at all, uncertain for how long.

Both City contracts expire on June 30th, but there have also been changes to the rules that allow temporary extensions.
