This week, British riders will compete in the BMX Racing World Championships in Copenhagen, and BBC Sport will show the action on Sunday, August 3rd, when the rainbow jersey winners are announced.
Frenchman Joris Daudet won his first world title in a dominant year, which included winning all 11 rounds of the European BMX tour, 14 years ago, at the World Championships in Denmark.
After winning in Paris 2024, he is the reigning Olympic champion and the defending champion this year.
The course is now faster, the corners are higher, and the bike designs are different from 14 years ago.
Who should you watch?

races for women:
The Australian champion at both the Olympics and the World Cup, Saya Sakakibara, is also a two-time Olympian. She will be looking to win her third World Cup title, but fourth is her best mark in this category, surpassing her previous best result.
Zoe Claessens will be looking to improve on the year when she placed second behind American Alise Willoughby. The Swiss rider won bronze at the Paris Olympics and is currently number one in the rankings for the year.
Beth Shriever, a British Olympian, is aiming to win a third world title with her.
Emily Hutt, a British underage athlete, is the name to watch out for in the women’s Under-23 competition. She will be looking to win the title for the first time after finishing second in the previous two U23 World Championships.
Men’s races:
The man to beat is France’s Joris Daudet. His fourth world title was won at Rock Hill in the United States last year.
Sylvain Andre, his fellow compatriot, will look to build on a successful year. Both the men’s elite rankings and the World Cup standings are at the top of André. He hasn’t won the World Championship since 2018; he just did.
