England vs. Wales: friendly international

Wembley Stadium, London Date: Thursday, October 9 Start time: 19:45 BST

Due to injury, Dan James will miss Wales’ October double-header against England and Belgium.

According to his Leeds United manager, Daniel Farke, the winger, 27, is expected to miss four to six weeks after kicking his ankle in training.

If a player can return before the November international break, Farke said on Thursday that he anticipates seeing James again. He called it a “bonus and surprise.”

On Thursday, October 9, Wales travel to Wembley to play England in a friendly before hosting Belgium in a World Cup qualifying game at Cardiff City Stadium the following Monday.

Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, and Ethan Ampadu are still called up for Wales head coach Craig Bellamy’s squad, but Leeds still has three players.

While James’ injury is a blow, Bellamy still has options for the wide attacking positions in the Premier League, with Sorba Thomas and David Brooks both playing for Tottenham at international level.
