WAFCON: ‘You Made Us Proud’, Tinubu Hails Super Falcons

Following their victory in Morocco’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) semi-final on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu praised the Super Falcons.

The victory gave the team a chance to capture their tenth WAFCON title, which would have previously been won by Nigeria.

President Tinubu congratulated the Falcons in a statement moments after the game in Morocco, stating that it was “well deserved” and “nothing short of superlative.”

He praised the team for their accomplishments and urged them to persevere until the trophy is returned.

With a late goal from defender Michelle Alozie, the Super Falcons defeated South Africa to win the game 2-1.

With the score seemingly set for extra time, Alozie launched a long ball into the South African penalty area that evaded the Banyana Banyana defense, nestling into the net, dazzling the Banyana Banyana defense.
