Vinicius Jr, the winger for Real Madrid, has expressed regret to the crowd for his part in the fiery El Clasico victory over Barcelona on Sunday.

Vinicius went down the tunnel in the 72nd minute to express his frustration.

After his side won 2-1, the Brazilian attempted to confront Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal during unpleasant post-game scenes before making his way back to the starting lineup.

Vinicius wrote on X to apologize to all the Madridistas for their criticism of my performance in the Clasico today.

I also want to apologize once more to my team-mates, the club, and the president, just as I have already done in person during today’s training.

Vinicius signed for Real from Flamengo for £38.7 million in 2018 and has now scored 111 goals in 335 games.

However, according to reports in recent months, Real might consider letting the 25-year-old leave if they were to receive a suitable offer, his future in the Spanish capital is far from certain.

Vinicius was replaced on Sunday by broadcaster Dazn, who said, “Always me! I’m resigning from the team! I’m leaving, so better is it.
