Temitope Temokun, a human rights lawyer, described how ten police officers “forcefully whisked” activist Omoyele Sowore from the Kuje Magistrate Court on Friday.

Temokun described the incident as “unnecessary and premeditated” in an exclusive interview with Channels Television’s Inside Sources on Sunday, adding that he had made violent arrest attempts.

The officers “treated those who attempted to capture the scene brutally.” He claimed that I was also assaulted and injured.

Within 30 minutes of the magistrate’s ruling, Sowore and other defendants’ bail conditions were met, but officers stormed the premises and “bundled him into a car” according to him.

Temokun criticized the police, alleging that they were unable to transfer Sowore to Kuje Prison. The Kuje authorities initially rejected him, he said, “but they tried to disguise the situation and patch it up.”

Prior to the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest, Sowore was given a $ 50.000 bail with two sureties, along with other defendants. He was arrested on Monday, October 27, 2025, despite the conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on that day.
