After years of them “disrespecting” his wife Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn Beckham officially cut ties with his parents, discrediting Victoria’s hopes of being an “elegant” grandma.

Victoria’s chances of being an “elegant” grandmother to his children are slim after Brooklyn Beckham scuttles any chance of reconciling with her estranged mother and father. After months of rumors about a serious family breakdown, the eldest of the four Beckham children accused Victoria and David of “controlling” him throughout his life. This was the shocking public statement this week.

He also claimed that Nicola Peltz-Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham were trying to “endlessly ruin their relationship” and that he “does not want to reconcile with his family.” Additionally, he claimed that the Beckham clan has consistently disrespected the model and actress and that members of his family have informed him on the eve of his April 2022 wedding that his wife-to-be is “not blood” and “not family.”

Victoria was questioned about her daughter-in-law and potential future role as grandmother in 2024, two years after Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish Palm Beach wedding, and her response lacked insight into what might have been happening behind closed doors.

The former Spice Girl was questioned about her desire to “be a grandmother” in a recorded interview with America’s Vogue magazine. A confused-looking Victoria responded, “Oh Jesus. What ? Woo! Continue to. I don’t believe it’s going to happen right away, unless you guys are aware of something that I don’t.

She went on to recount a conversation with former Vogue editor Anna Wintour, when she asked the fashion icon what her own grandchildren call her, revealing, “She said to me, ‘Anna’. And I was like, well that is very elegant, so maybe I’ll take that route.”

Brooklyn claimed in his ominous statement on Monday that he and Nicola had “gone out of our way for years to show our perfect family” and that this was the beginning of accusations that he had “overshadowed” a significant announcement from another Beckham child.

“Brand Beckham comes first,” says Beckham. Family “love” is determined by how much you share on social media or how quickly you leave everything to pose for a family photo opportunity, even if it comes at the expense of our professional obligations.

When Vogue in the February 2024 interview asked what she thought of her daughter-in-law, the pop star-turned-fashion designer responded that she was “so talented” and “so passionate” about her career, adding that “her and Brooklyn make each other super happy.” As a mother, all you want is for your kids to be happy is that, is what she wanted. That is the whole.

She added that she would be “dressing her” and “absolutely” planning to attend Nicola’s upcoming premiere of Lola, which the 31-year-old wrote and starred in.

One of the last times Nicola and Victoria were photographed in public at a major event was during the premiere of Lola, which tells the tale of two siblings who struggled to cope after growing up in a toxic household with a difficult mother.

After the event, New York-born Nicola told Vogue: “I was so excited to wear Victoria Beckham on a night that meant so much to me. Victoria is a genius, and it was so special to collaborate on this beautiful custom look from her.”

On her own Instagram, Victoria posted a photograph of herself and her daughter-in-law and wrote; “[Nicola] we could not be more proud of you! Congratulations on your incredible film, Lola. Officially in theatres February 9th Kisses”
