Victoria Beckham and her husband David Beckham have fallen out with their son Brooklyn, who issued a number of scathing allegations about his famous parents
Victoria Beckham’s ‘control’ over her son ends in a matter of months. The family are at war, with Brooklyn backing his wife Nicola Peltz and taking aim at David and Victoria Beckham in a shocking turn of events.
In a bombshell statement, he explained: “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.
“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”
It isn’t made clear what he is referring to when he says payday, but it’s well known that the Beckhams are keen to keep their brand – and name – used in the right way and strictly by the family.
In April 2017, it was reported by BBC News that Victoria had trademarked her four children’s names with intellectual property authorities in Britain and Europe, which would allow them to release branded products under their names and stop others from doing the same. Victoria and David had previously trademarked their names in 2002 and 2000 respectively.
The Daily Mail have reported that documents show Victoria trademarked her son’s name in December 2016, with the expiration said to be December of this year. When it ends, Brooklyn will be able to renew using his own lawyers, it has been reported.
Brooklyn has tried his hand at multiple jobs over the years, modelling, photography and most recently becoming a chef. His wife Nicola Peltz had previously said her husband felt “pressure” to follow in his parents’ footsteps.
She said that he had tried his hand at football, fashion photography and modelling – all careers adjacent to that of his parents but never quite felt they had worked, until he turned to cooking.
“You can tell that when Brooklyn’s in the kitchen he’s in heaven. Ever since the pandemic, all he’s wanted to talk about is being in the kitchen, so I just started filming him one day. I said, ‘This is what you love,'” she told Tatler.
In what seemingly showed his fractured bond with his family and his connection to Nicola’s billionaire parents, she added: “Brooklyn is getting into very exciting things with his shows and it’s really sweet, I watch him call my dad and say, ‘What do you think about this?’ I love watching him learn from my dad.”
