While the fallout between the Beckham and the Peltz families has been well documented, just how it began has always been unclear, but a source has claimed they’ve uncovered the moment
Brooklyn’s bombshell statement earlier this week appeared to put any end to hopes of reconciliation with his parents David and Victoria Beckham.
In the bombshell statement the aspiring chef, 26, laid out several claims about his parents in which he blamed them for the fall out – alleging he had been “controlled” and claimed Sir and Lady Beckham had “been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship” with wife Nicola, 31.
While Instagram post does make a series of allegations from throughout the feud, Brooklyn doesn’t pinpoint where and when the fall out began – which has remained somewhat a mystery since reports of the feud first surfaced. But now, an insider has claimed they can pinpoint the moment where things went awry between the Peltzs and the Beckhams – and it all began with a ‘misstep’ by the Beckhams when they first met Nicola’s parents.

It is claimed the two families met when the Beckhams invited Nelson and Claudia Peltz to their £76 million home in Palm Beach, Florida – which didn’t take place until after Brooklyn and Nicola were engaged due to the pandemic. A source claimed to the Daily Mail: “‘When they first went to the Peltz house, the Beckhams sent their security team in advance to sweep the place.
“It’s standard procedure when you are a couple with that level of fame, but it did not go down well with the Peltz family. They have their own security, of course, and naturally it is the best that money can buy, so there was no need for their visitors to do this. It raised eyebrows.” The source added: “The feeling was that the Beckhams were somehow saying they were more important than the Peltzes. It was a simple misstep, but a bad start.”
By Brooklyn’s own admission there were tensions before he walked down the aisle to Nicola as he said in his statement: “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.” He also said: “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”
Since the bombshell post set the internet alight, brand Beckham has continued to keep on rolling on like it’s business as usual. David made a public appearance at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland shortly after the explosive post, while Victoria broke her silence yesterday to wish her pal Emma Bunton a happy birthday on Instagram. It has also been reported Lady Victoria plans to attend Emma’s 50th birthday celebrations over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn’s brother Cruz released tickets for his debut gig at London’s Courtyard Theatre on March 27 – with tickets selling out within minutes of them being released. While their careers seem unscathed, it’s clear their relationship with Brooklyn is beyond repair as the eldest Beckham son sadly stated in his explosive post: “I do not want to reconcile with my family.”
