Victoria Beckham and her former Spice Girls bandmates will reunite for their first professional collaboration in a decade in a new animated animated film about the band.

Victoria Beckham and her former Spice Girls pals are working on a significant new project. The Spice Girls’ first professional reunion since they took the stage during the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, will be the simply-named animated film.

The Spice Girls will feature all five of the original cast members, including Lady Victoria, Geri Horner, Melanie Brown MBE, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, and Melanie Chisholm, who lend their voices, according to the official IMDb listing.

The Spice Girls are portrayed as superheroes in an animated film, according to the brief description. The girls will reprise their pop star alter egos, including Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty, and Baby Spice, but details regarding the plot, format, and release date are still a mystery, according to IMDb’s hush-hush.

This exciting news broke as Victoria, 51, graced the premiere of her three-part Netflix docu-series Victoria Beckham at The Curzon Mayfair in London on 8 October. The fashion mogul and former pop sensation was accompanied by her husband, Sir David Beckham, 50, and their children, except for eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, who is reportedly caught up in a family dispute.

Emma, Geri, and Melanie Chisholm, her ex-boyfriends, also posed together on the red carpet for the premiere. Although Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B, was the only present, she had already sent Victoria a lovely bouquet of flowers.

Melanie had previous work commitments in the US. Despite the other four members reuniting for a UK and Ireland stadium tour in 2019, Victoria hasn’t performed with the Spice Girls since their storied Olympic appearance in London twelve years ago.

Victoria opted out of that tour, but she has since remained committed to the group’s legacy. The first indication that the entire cast could once more collaborate on a successful project is in the IMDb listing.

The animated film’s potential will be a series or a feature film, it is not clear. Following the release of their debut single Wannabe in 1996, The Spice Girls became a household name in the middle of the 1990s. Before Geri left the band in 1998, which led to a formal hiatus, the band sold over 100 million records worldwide.

The band also reunited for a world tour in 2007 and again for their Olympic performance in 2012, which was widely hailed as one of the highlights of the Games. Since then, each member has embarked on individual ventures in music, television, fashion and business while maintaining a close personal bond.

Posh may have in mind this as well, given that Posh may not be the only Spice Girls project. She acknowledged in an interview with Andy Cohen that she has been considering the chart-topping band’s plans for the upcoming year’s celebrations of the three decades that preceded their most recent single, “Wannabe.”

Victoria responded, “It would be tempting, but I really liked the idea of the band playing at the Sphere in Las Vegas. But would you allow me to travel the world? No, I can’t. How talented would the Spice Girls be at the Sphere, in my opinion? The idea of it is so appealing. I mean, I’m not sure if I could even sing, and I’m never that great. Soon, host Andy retorted, “You can sing, babe.”

Victoria’s spokesperson has been in contact with The Mirror for comment.
