Vicky Pattison, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, revealed how her ” honeymoon period” with her dance partner Kai Widdrington abruptly ended.
Vicky Pattison, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, revealed how a wardrobe malfunction during rehearsals brought her “honeymoon period” with professional partner Kai Widdrington’s debut season to a quick conclusion.
The former Geordie Shore personality has been showcasing her dancing abilities since September, partnering with Kai Widdrington in pursuit of the prestigious Glitterball trophy.
The 37-year-old humorously described how the “honeymoon period” with Kai abruptly came to an end despite making it through the first round of the competition.
Speaking candidly about the awkward moment on her Get A Grip podcast with Angela Scanlon, the television personality recalled one of her initial dress rehearsals with Kai, when she experienced an unexpected “stress period”.
Vicky said, “I had a stress period the first day. during my rehearsal wearing clothes.
Vicky described Kai’s emergence as a “spinner” who was like “kicking heat packs down my leggings” in an effort to solve the problem. The honeymoon period was over.
The reality star has remained a star on the judging panel despite her and Kai’s challenges throughout the competition so far, earning a respectable 23 points for their Cha Cha Cha performance. The pair’s scores have increased week on week as the weeks have passed.
They received a score of 24 in week two, a 25 the following week, and last week, they received a massive 29 in the Samba dance competition.
Vicky has become the latest in a long line of reality TV stars to try their luck in the BBC dancing competition, with previous contestants from the industry having seen mixed success down the years.
One of the latest reality TV stars to compete in the show, Tasha Ghouri, made history, as she became only the second member of the deaf community to take part, following in the footsteps of actress Rose Alying-Ellis.
Strictly fans were left stunned earlier this week after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman brought an end to their time on the show, captioning a joint post on Instagram, saying: “We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.
We just want to say a huge thank you to the BBC and to everyone who volunteers for the show, saying “we will have the greatest rest of this amazing series.”
They continued, “We’ll miss them every day because they’re the most brilliant team.” When we say the final “keep dancing,” we will cry, but we’ll keep saying it to one another. Just possibly while eating some pizza while wearing tracksuit bottoms at home.
