Verónica Echegui, a 42-year-old actress who battled cancer, passed away suddenly at the age of 89. The My Prisoner’s Yard star, who was taken to a hospital in Madrid, passed away on Sunday, according to El Pas, a local newspaper.
Verónica is best known for her roles in Kathmandu Lullaby, Bunny and the Bell, Bunny and the Bell, Family United, You’re Killing Me Susana, and The Offering. Antonio Banderas and Pedro Sánchez, the country’s prime minister, paid tribute to the highly regarded star after her death was revealed.
Desperado actor Antonio wrote on X/ Twitter : “Today, Spanish cinema is in mourning due to the passing of Verónica Echegui. My condolences to her family and friends.”
