Despite claiming to make £395,000 annually from his Radio 2 show, Vernon Kay also has a number of lucrative side projects.

Vernon Kay’s lucrative side projects after wife Tess Daly quit Strictly Come Dancing have been revealed.

Tess, 56, announced the shock news she was stepping down from the BBC show she had hosted for 21 years in October. Sidekick Claudia Winkleman also said she was quitting at the same time.

The pair shared a video with fans, saying, “We have loved working as a duo, and hosting Strictly has been a dream. We had planned to leave together before, but now it seems appropriate. We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who works on the show, including the BBC.

Their last appearance was on the Strictly festive special which aired on Christmas Day. While it’s since been announced that Claudia, 53, will host her own BBC chat show – and she continues to front hugely successful series like The Traitors – Tess hasn’t made any career announcements of her own just yet.

Her 22-year-old husband, Vernon, who she shares daughters with, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16, with, continues to make a ‘side hustle’ with a ‘side hustle’ of “side hustles” with a ‘man of the ‘.

In a video shared on Instagram in December – the same month Tess left Strictly – Vernon now looks to be flogging caravan holidays to Parkdean Resorts for just £99.

The promo video features Vernon dancing around the resort in Trecco Bay, South Wales, while wearing a red sequin jacket that resembles a Butlin’s Redcoat.

The caption reads, “Epic things are coming, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming Vernon back in 2026 to check out Highfield Grange and Vauxhall Holiday Park – epic things are coming.

Vernon announced a partnership with LEGO in the weeks since Tess left her rumored £400,000-a-year role with Strictly. He appeared in a video for them on November 13 with his eldest daughter Phoebe, which could have brought in up to £50,000.

He also appeared in photos promoting Wellman, whose wife Tess has a long-standing working relationship with as Wellwoman’s face. He also showed off his skincare regimen on social media.

Vernon, who was scouted as a model in 1997 launching his media career, has also been going back to his roots and fronting social media campaigns for Marks & Spencer. As well as promoting the clothes online, he takes part in live shopping streams – and regularly promotes their M&S men’s ranges.

And he’s frequently spotted on the DJ scene playing Dance Sounds of the 90s shows throughout the UK. Although this is more in line with his day job and is made easier by the Radio 2 tie-in, it’s believed that Vernon makes “tens of thousands of pounds from these”

In the past, BBC stars were prohibited from using their licence-feee-funded fame for advertising purposes, but this has since been relaxed, and Vernon certainly appears to be making money off of this.
