The former model admitted to occasionally deceiving wife Tess Daly with his fashion choices, starting out on TV and later on with a career in radio.
After visiting a DIY store this weekend, Vernon Kay of BBC Radio 2 admitted to getting a little dressing down from his wife.
He continued, however, that his strong connection to the BBC Radio 2 audience came about after an incident.
Vernon admitted to having a lovely incident yesterday at our neighborhood DIY store when he appeared on his show earlier today. I went to my local DIY store to purchase some bits, which is how you do that. I was walking through the aisles and saw this lovely couple, I believe, breaking floor tiles.
I’ve just walked out of the door with my hoodie on, my bobble hat on, and I’m wearing my joggers. I haven’t looked in the mirror. ”
Vernon claimed that his wife, who he still playfully refers to as “Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly,” would be quite irritated by his outfit. She would say, “You left like that,” “You did it.” Who saw you, exactly? Vernon remarked.
However, Vernon continued, it was intended as a reminder of how widely spread Radio 2 can be. Q,” he said, “and as I walk past this couple, maybe five strides past, I hear the message ‘See you on Monday morning, Vern! And I responded, “Yep, tune in every morning.” ’
He said, “I didn’t look at him, but he didn’t look at me.” It was fantastic. It was similar to two school or work mates who regularly saw each other every day. ”
Vernon’s wife Tess isn’t working at present, but after sensationally quitting Strictly Come Dancing at the end of last year she’s reportedly eyeing a number of exciting opportunities.
Before stepping down and resuming his position in 2014, the mother-of-two had been at the helm of Strictly since it first aired on television 21 years ago alongside Sir Bruce Forsyth.
Tess has now made comments about what’s coming up next, including introducing her own NAIA Active sportswear line, and making hints about “in the pipeline” for more television work. ”
She began talking about life in her 50s, “I have so much life experience under my belt, and I enjoy the wisdom that comes with that.” It has a pleasant calmness that comes with it. ”
Speaking to Hello! Magazine about the activewear brand, which comes after launching swimwear label NAIA Beach with her close friend in 2021, Tess revealed she had been working 15-hour days until Christmas, with the launch being “months in the making”.

She continued, revealing that she is looking forward to upcoming TV projects after her Strictly exit, adding that there are still a few projects in the works. ”
She continued, “I genuinely enjoy working in television. ”
Following her emotional exit on Strictly, in which Tess and Claudia held back tears as they were surprised with a message from Queen Camilla, Tess took to Instagram with a behind-the-scenes video of the final.
