Van Dijk Won’t ‘Panic’ Over Liverpool Future

Van Dijk Won’t ‘Panic’ Over Liverpool Future

The Reds captain admits he is willing to let his contract run down until the end of the season, but Virgil van Dijk won’t “panic” about his future at Liverpool.

Van Dijk’s current contract expires in June, and there are no plans for an extension in Liverpool’s negotiations.

If no new contract is reached, the 33-year-old defender’s successful seven-year spell at Anfield will come to an end.

Van Dijk, who will lead Liverpool in Sunday’s League Cup game against Newcastle at Wembley, has made no secret of his desire to stay on Merseyside.

But his performances and focus have not been impacted by the resolution that has been found.

I don’t know if I will let this go completely before there is still no news.

“But I just keep my head down and concentrate on hopefully winning the next ten games, because I don’t want to create any anxiety or anything like that.”

By the end of the season, I’m certain there will be news. However, I’m not sure what kind of news.

He continued, “We’re all just going to have a one-two-three discussion.” There are many reasons, but as long as I stay calm to the media, nothing should ever go wrong.

“I would seem a little worried if you saw me acting a little bit worried,” I don’t think that is the case. There is no denying that I am devoted to Liverpool Football Club.

In a bid to win the 20th English title, Liverpool are 15 points clear of the competition for the Premier League title.

Van Dijk’s excellent form has helped Liverpool maintain its dominance domestically, and manager Arne Slot made it abundantly clear that he wants to keep his fellow Dutchman.
