Usher sets sail across River Thames after opening epic 10-night London residency

R&amp, B legend Usher began his London residency this weekend and followed up his epic opening show with a boat trip down the River Thames with 100 VIP guests

Following the opening night of his Past Present Future European Tour, Usher took to the River Thames for a celebration. The musician, 46, marked the occasion with a stylish celebration as he set sail down the river.

He was joined by over one hundred VIP guests, as he sailed from Greenwich Pier to take in the breathtaking views of London’s most iconic landmarks, including The London Eye and Tower Bridge. The boat party then arriving at Embankment Pier. Usher was joined by guests, including musician RAYE, and presenter Judi Love, with the ensemble heading to The Yeah Man at The Box Soho.

It comes as the King of R&amp, B got his near-two week stint at London’s 02 Arena under way on Saturday. The superstar was on top form as he sang over 40 of his hits to the sold out crowd on night one.

He was seen feeding fans in the crowd fruit in crazy scenes as he kicked off his run in the capital with a bang.

Usher, best known for huge tracks such as You Make Me Wanna and YEAH showed off his talents and showmanship at the first take.

Mirror reporter Janine Yaqoob was on hand to take in the party atmosphere, saying: “From his multiple outfit changes, to his interactions with the crowd, pumped up Usher kept the energy levels up throughout the two hour set, so much so he was dripping in sweat for most of it.”

The star is said to have got his fans in attendance hot under the collar with his array of raunchy routines. Sometimes the efforts saw him go topless and grind against a microphone stand and grab his crotch.

Usher’s 10-show run at the 02 will conclude on May 7, with the star performing April 1 -2nd, 5-6th, 8-9th and 11th April, before his final shows on May 6th and 7th.

Usher initially announced his UK tour following his thrilling Super Bowl half-time show last year. He revealed it will mark 30 years in the music industry and promised fans a performance of a lifetime.

It is the singer’s first European tour since 2015. As well as entertaining the crowds in London, he will head to Paris, Amsterdam and then Berlin, concluding his tour in Germany’s Mercedes-Benz Arena in May.

After announcing his tour, Usher said: “Europe, you ready? After the epic experience at the Super Bowl and the huge demand for shows across North America, I’m happy to announce I’m coming your way as well – for shows in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin.

” This tour is both a celebration of the past 30 years and a glimpse into the future. We are just getting started! “
