Even before lower courts have rendered their decisions, the US Supreme Court has decided not to move quickly into considering whether to challenge President Donald Trump’s massive tariffs.
A family-owned toy company, Learning Resources, requested on Friday that the Supreme Court expedite the review of the dispute by the country’s top judicial body.
The manufacturer, which produces educational toys, won a court case on May 29 that Trump can’t unilaterally impose tariffs using his claimed emergency authority. The tariffs are currently in place, with that decision currently being put on hold.
Learning Resources   requested that the Supreme Court decide the tariffs’ legality right away, effectively overriding the District of Columbia Circuit’s District of Columbia Circuit in Washington, where the case is pending.
